Daniel Najera, Creative Action

This month’s Staff Spotlight is Daniel Najera! As site coordinator and on-site director for Creative Action, Daniel creates opportunities for young people to explore the arts and find lifelong passions.

Daniel’s work is deeply rooted in his own life and the principle of “pay it forward”: his school band program gave him a passion for music and a sense of finding his tribe. He’s committed to doing the same for all of CA’s students.

One of the moments that most inspired David was a simple comment after an afterschool lesson: a student told him that he “felt like the smartest kid in music class.” Students like that have told Daniel how excited they are to pursue music, theatre, and the arts in and out of school.

Daniel’s message to fellow OST professionals is simple: keep fighting the good fight. Those of us with proximity to power, money, and influence have unparalleled opportunities to support and empower organizations like Creative Action. For those of us without that access, keep up the good work! Students are growing and thriving thanks to you.
