Xochitl Gonzalez, Austin Bat Cave

This month’s Staff Spotlight is Xochitl Gonzalez! Xochitl is program director at Austin Bat Cave, teaching writing, publishing student work, and helping budding writers of all ages grow.

Her dream is to live in the world she and her students create, building community, inspiring creativity, and finding new futures together.

Xochitl had inspiring experiences with nonprofit programs and OST education throughout her childhood. Working with ABC gave her the chance to do the same for her students. She loves seeing students publish in the ABC anthology for the first time; there’s nothing more special than seeing their stories come to life

She wants to remind her fellow educators that nothing is more healing to your inner child than becoming the person you needed when you were young.
