Position Title: Early Childhood Music Teacher: Music Explorers
Location: Westlake site (404 Camp Craft Rd., Westlake Hills 78746)
Employment Type: Part-time, with flexible schedule
Salary Range: Pay for classes is $45 per hour and private lessons starts at $35 per hour.
Position Overview
At Armstrong Community Music School we teach, explore, perform, and celebrate music. We support and engage our entire community with nurturing and transformational musical experiences.
We are seeking a music teacher to facilitate our “Music Explorers” classes for young learners in PreK (3-5yrs) and K-2nd (5-7yrs) at our Westlake site (404 Camp Craft Rd., Westlake Hills 78746). Curriculum, training, and teacher support will be provided. Opportunities for teaching private lessons and additional classes are available. Our facility is fully accessible, and all programs are open to students with special needs. We have a dedicated teaching space equipped with tools and supplies needed for group and private instruction.

Designed as a fun, age-appropriate bridge between early childhood music play and future instrument lessons, Music Explorers helps young learners build cultural awareness, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. Every class period, students will enjoy:
Story time introducing a new culture and musical style
Music and movement to explore rhythm and expression
A musical craft or themed coloring activity
A special “guest instrument” they can see, touch, and try
Desired Experience and Competencies:
Training or experience in the Music, Education, or Child Development fields
Skill in classroom management
Adept at managing your own schedule
Communicate clearly and in a timely manner
Experience or education/training in working with students with special needs
