Part-time Program Leader, Latinitas
Position Title: Part-time Program Leader
Location: San Antonio, Tx
Employment Type: Part-Time (Up to 25 hours a week, Monday - Friday, some evenings and weekends).
Compensation: $20/hour+ depending on experience
Founded in 2002, Latinitas is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering girls and their communities through culturally relevant education.
Position Overview
Latinitas is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader to support Latinitas programming with their afterschool programs and multi-gen programming. The Program Leader will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will be able to maintain and effectively facilitate and execute program deliverables. Program leaders administer their TEKS-supportive STEM curriculum. In addition, the Program Leader will guide students to follow the Power Chica learning process to develop their Confidence, Connections, Curiosity, Creativity, and Collaboration skills. The Program Leader will also assist with the Padres Digitales programming. Padres Digitales is a free bilingual programming program designed for parents, guardians, and family members of their students. The Program Leader will teach the essential skills to navigate the web, support their children’s education, and expand job opportunities.
Responsibilities
Programming Expectations and Responsibilities
Facilitates in-person Club Latinitas afterschool program and Padres Digitales.
Provides a positive and welcoming environment for our students
Preparation of lesson plans and materials before every session
Responsible for all tech equipment in San Antonio
Communicates any issues or concern with Program Manager
Report monthly attendance, recruitment and activity content and data
Work alongside Program Manager to maintain open communication with ISD
Program Leader is a representative of Latinitas and its mission in San Antonio
Qualifications
Must be bilingual (English & Spanish)
Must have reliable transportation (Our programming is primarily in the Southside of San Antonio)
Must have some experience working with youth/children in a classroom, camp, workshop or community space.
Must show strong leadership and communication skills
Able to adapt to program changes and challenges as they are planned and executed.
Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and standard knowledge of professional etiquette in email, phone and in-person collaboration.
Understanding of and enthusiastic about the Latinitas mission, vision and programs
Organized, resourceful and creative
Availability
Must have availability Monday - Friday afternoons between 2-6pm for Club Latinitas. Preference will be given to those who have availability for seasonal programs M-F mornings and select Saturdays.
