ATX KIDS CLUB is an Austin-based non-profit that helps youth develop self-confidence and independence by fearlessly exploring their city on year-round urban field trip adventures. Our program and curriculum are designed to create a space for campers to discover a new sense of self, place, and adventure by expanding their sense of the world around them. We partner with local organizations and businesses that help create life-changing adventures for our kids.

Position Description: The Field Trip Leader positions will be responsible for leading campers, ages 4-8 or 8-12 on high-quality, life-changing adventure field-trips through our Summer Camp Adventures program. We are looking for applicants to join our team that thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and will be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic. As a member of the ATX KIDS CLUB Team, Field Trip Leaders will report directly to the Program Specialists.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Develop positive relationships with participants, parents, partners, and other staff to ensure high levels of satisfaction
- Collect necessary program data to support grant outcomes and impact
- Maintain compliance with all safety and program standards
- Travel within Austin on CapMetro with a small group of campers (8:1 ratio) to a set destination for a different educational experience each day

Qualifications and Skills:

  • - 1+ years of experience in child/youth development or related field
    - Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
    - Strong initiative, self-motivated, critical thinker
    - Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    - Skill working with diverse clients and communities
    - Ability to facilitate cooperative work
    - Ability to communicate effectively with children/youth and foster their involvement and participation
    - Must be at least 20 years of age with a valid Texas driver’s license, reliable transportation, and safe driving record.

Compensation and Benefits:

$22.00/hourly

Summer Camp Hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm. Program runs May 28 – August 16, 2024. Required to attend Training (May 17th, May 20-23, 2024) and Kick-off Celebration on May 19th.
